It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Help the unreal community build a timeline

Post by Jâçkrâßßit »

Okay, so this is my proposal... I want people to put their heads together and come up with a timeline from 1998 (yes the retail game release) until 2008 (current day). If we want to go further back in time (for Unreal Technology purposes) thats fine. For now, it stands as 1998-2008(current day)

The time-line should include: engine features/limitations (pre-227dev), all epics official releases, all community releases that still live today, mega map-pack releases (including singleplayer), all important 227 updates (for the public to see) and Major side projects (such as S3TC), and major player history and major clan history.

Even if you only have a general idea of when something happened, please include it in your own list as a reply to this topic. I'm sure if you make an educated guess of when something was released, someone else will be able to correct it. My list will be up soon.

My news archive may be of some help:
http://www.hypercoop.tk/indexo.htm

Some old stuff also may be found in Epics Unreal tech site, which has been mirrored here:

You also may want to check out the Internet Archive to see the past state of many Unreal related sites.

I guess it shipped the 22nd, and in stores on
Monday the 25th 1998. at a suggested retail of $54.95.
