I've played U1 (duh), U1:RtNP, U2, and UT99.  Though I'm interested in playing UT3, it looks nice.

You're all missing U2XMP, UC, UC2. They're actually different, and has received quite good scores. Yet you can usually see the differences between UE1 and UE2 (except U2), and for that matter UE3. In UE1, you feel like a brick as you don't have anything extra to make you go higher. And falling is... Ouch, very low air control. In UE2, you're flying! Double jumps, walldodges etc. Make it a lot easier to get around - and they're required as the map scales grow. This is especially seen in U2XMP, where you have jet packs which are quite powerful, and you can even mantle up - it lifts you up like 3 times the height of yourself. Quite a difference compared to UE1. Like I've said, U2 is an exception - you move very slowly as there are no vehicles you had to dodge off. But, you're still more mobile as you can mantle and prone. The air control is still low once you fall down, and unlike in other games (except U2XMP) instead of jumping off once you hit the ground, you get stuck in it for a short moment. That's a lot more realistic.
And no idea how it is with UE3 as I haven't tried that.

UT3 is like UT99 but beefed up. It's somewhat slower in gameplay than UT2K4, but that didn't stop it from becoming awesome.

Even if you've played UT99 and UT2k4, UT3 will still feel new, unlike Super Smash Bros Brawl, where despite the fact that it was a new game, it still felt like the previous game, which made it get old fast. UT3, however, is an entirely new feel with traces of nostalgia.

But if you still don't want to try UT3, I understand.
