OldUnreal (Engine)

Can see a few euro servers but that's all.
Confirmed with several other players on east coast. :-?

Maybe Epic are messing around their Master Server due to the UE3 exploits? Or maybe not, who knows. Yet waiting might solve this.

The gamespy master is down at all. No servers in Unreal browser.(Except for u227 who has a backup server at TNN)

Also Gamespy Arcade, Gamespy Lite and Gamespy Arcade (Unreal Tournament) have no listed servers. Probably standard maintenance or some temp downtime. If not, well then our [url=http://hypernl.thenerdnetwork.net/indexm.htm]backup master servers[/url] come in handy.

I mailed yesterday EPIC to ask about the very slow masterserver @ epicgames. Got no answer yet, but maybe they are working on it?

For 227e servers I posted the update to make 227e compatible with TNN Masterservers in the 227 forum. (The one you already have, Hyper )

I only wish I could afford a masterserver for oldunreal - maybe I should really look out for some advertising on the page...*sigh*

i use 225 with TNN manually added in the ini.

Gamespy you can connect, but it just shows nothing.

It does the validation handshake even.
Well at least we have the backups .

Im cureentlly introducing a few freinds to unreal its handy to have theese backups.

I have seen this happen a few times, its probably just maintenance. Seems like once a year or so they go down a day or so.

yea im down here in FL and its not like the master server is failing for me, it just wont load period (all i get is "0 servers, 0 players")

Yes, it has been used for UT only. Most likely it is compatible with Unreal also tho. I tested it once but that failed probably because the Unreal browser was never intended to manage that much servers.

(When it queries the master server it gets the full list of uplinked servers, that means including all UT servers. Each server record has a game name field in it on which the browser should filter it.)

For me it usually goes: timeout talking to masterserver unles si change the gamename to ut

can anyone count HOW many times this has happened? i've lost track. this is the most bothersome situation i've ever seen, worse to happen was to loose tribes 1's master list.

Yeah not many new players would know of TNN. Mind you, ive only been in 4 weeks. (and my freinds: laro and alfredo) who i introduced know about it now i decided to do my checking up on this issue for any backups that might exist lol

Last september gamespy went down and now it happened agin in september. I was expecting this. But i wasnt expecting you to beable to query the masterserver and have it show as "0 servers, 0 players"

i can't recall if this downing happened last years september, but yeah, has anyone kept time on how long this "maintenance" takes? not everyone uses the TNN master list you know..

It should not be longer than 3 or 4 days after then I would start raising hell with someone. I believe it was 3 days last year? Not sure but I know it wasn't back up promptly.

i just hope its back up by this weekend :-/

Gamespy Lite for Unreal shows some servers again. I guess it is coming back now.

Yeah its back. But on Deus Ex people asked me about a tiny list. Only like 5 servers show. The unreal one seemed smaller with gamespy too.

Yeah, same here. My servers are not listed at all at Gamespy for some reason. (They ARE online) I guess they are completely lost until I restart them. Don't ask me why.

I restarted my HyperDM server but it still does not get listed at GameSpy. Weird.

Guys, I have bad news, this seems to be worse, they stopped running servers for older games, including daikatana, which servers suddenly raised nowadays (since 2007) beacuse of release of standalone dkdm, and some gametap players or what it is. I have a server on daikatana and it doesn't show up on list too. Only one server is up there.

Is that based upon an assumption or something Gamespy said directly? (if the latter, quote?)

This problem is happening in more than one game using Gamespy, (including recent games like UT3) so the chances are that it's a temporary problem.

Hmm the list of servers is way shorter than usual...My server doesn't show up on the list too...Very strange. Hope that somebody fixes it. It drives me crazy!

Somebody should make another master server for U1...IT CAN'T BE THAT HARD! I would if I knew how. But somebody surely knows. If somebody knows, DO IT!!!

No, I didn't get it from other sources. I just saw the serevrs dissapeared there too. But it seems at the less populated games then, someone said this is because gamespy master server moved location, so maybe this is just temporary then.
But UT works perfectly and all the top populated games.
