It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

To celebrate 227, I am recruiting level designers for my 227 Exclusive Map pack. Add my MSN messenger for more detail. Only requirement is you are able to make Original unreal style maps. So far I have 5 very well built maps and 3 are in concept.

First Dawn is the moment in time around 10 years before the Rikers.
for 60+ years, there has been a guerilla war between Skaarj and the Skaarj-Mercenary Hybrids (Self Proclaimed as "Xeridians") The skaarj grip on the planet has been hindered for there is a secret burried under napali.

The UMS Exodus was reported missing when mapping this sector of space. You are a Geologist sent to survey planets for possible colonization. In the dead of of night your ship's engines were targeted by an unknown alien force and sent spiraling to an unknown planet.

As much as I love making maps, I'm nowhere near as good as your nor as motivated as I should be. I love what I'm seeing from those shots.

Wow, this map seems to be impressive. I still dont know how to make that "broken" brushes and take out pieces of brush from the wall etc :'( I think thats only mapping cool thing i dont know :-/ :(

I can teach anyone who lacks confidence in thier abilities how to do some really nice tricks in mapping. Only real requirement is they know the basics (Tool functions and ect). The story is currently still a concept stage and is VERY Flexible. That was only 1 of 5 maps that are "finished". Ive been revising everything constantly as time goes on (Cleaning up those lazy spots).

Not bad, but not quite original. The first screenshots are almost identical to UMS Prometheus... The second - NyLeve/DuskFalls/Spire Valley. The third - Foundry. Yet it's good to see custom U1 maps.
But as someone on BUF said, the Na Pali-themed maps are really starting to get boring. 95% of SP maps are there! Argh! Why not NEG(human cities)/Aborea/Barrens etc....

I pretty much agree with GreatEmerald. I feel like looking At the original game. While it's one of the best looking game ever, imitation gets boring. Unreal has it's special feeling about it, that the custom maps will find it much harder to catch. Original visuals is surely something needed.

Im thinking about starting from scratch since the maps are already 2-3 years old. Other reason is I would like to add more function (HellKeeper made a good point my maps are alot of walking from point "A" to point "B") such as objectives. The final reason is I want to go back to my original plan and have you visit exotic regions of napali such as the desert. If you have any way to help, add my MSN SirdanielUT(AT)Qwest(DOT)Net. The story is still in concept and is open to amendments.

One thing I've never seen in a Coop package is an urban setting. Maps that can be played using Serpentine Coop, etc. It's always spaceships, caves or castles. I'd love to see 'modern' buildings. Just an idea.

Hey, glad you finally posted about this....i think i tried to post about this earlier somewhere in a different post...but it never got popular...prolly because i posted it in the User Maps section...noone ever goes there :P

Should i post some screenies of the maps I'm currently working on? :P



I don't believe people here are getting what is truly amazing about this map pack....this is going to be 227 ONLY....and using all the new 227 particle emmiters and other features as well XD

Hopefully we can make this the first 227 coop map pack to come out :)

Currently Im starting from scratch for a smoother refined story and to reinvision the maps. Im still recruiting Mappers and possibly a coder. If you would like to.. when the maps get off the ground , musicians could create music to match the atmosphere.
