Any luck getting the legal stuff out of the way with RTNP?

What legal stuff? They can make UPak support at once, but they don't want double bug fixes.

What licensing issues? UPak is for Gold and RTNP. It needs to use the specific installer, that's all.

What licensing issues?
the licensing issues that rose from the fact that Dots converted UPak for 225f use, e.g. removed the need for the .dll extensions which were mostly useless.
speaking of RTNP does anyone own a hard copy of the ACTUAL RTNP disc or whatever? not gold, but RTNP standalone.

I am full of crap. I read it wrong :o. But anyway, is there an ETA for the addition of the RTNP to 227?

Gyiyg: don't see how this connects to 227. Smirf has the full rights to include UPak in 227.
Captain: What's an ETA?

Does he? are you sure? I was under the impression that he could not legally include UPak with 227, which is why none of the released versions have UPak support.

No. Smirf has full rights to include UPak as long as it comes with the default installer (or another one which checks the same files and registry entries so no leech). Simply they didn't want to release it as if they did, they would have to do double work in fixing bugs - same fix for each version. As soon as it's bug free, they'll add the support (AFAIK it will take ~15 minutes to do lol).

Actually i was under the impression that smirftsch wasnt allowed to alter the upak due to copyright infringement with Legend Entertainent. And since Legend has the copyright, Epic cant give Smirftsch permission to work on it. Effectivelly its not up to Epic.

no bad mood please
Its really easy. I will be able to offer a version with UPak and there will be no legal issues- BUT - it must be separated from the "Unreal Classic" version- means that I need to create a patch which can determine if it is Gold or Anthology and only then it can be applied with UPak included. Or in other words, I need to make sure "Unreal Classic" can't be expanded to UGold with the patch.

Yeap, like I've said.
And that's not bad mood, I'm just surprised so many people don't know about that, I man, I've seen at least 5 posts saying that UPak will be done, lol.
