Key Binding

About 10 years ago, my gram played Unreal and loved it. I found the  "OldUnreal" site and the patches are such that I can play the original Unreal on my new computer. Hooray!
Gram had her "Z" key programmed to be a "Zoom" function when she pressed it and held it down, then returned to normal when she let go. In her notes and print outs, I couldn't find any reference as to how she did this. I know you had to open both Unreal.ini and User.ini to fix Unreal the way she wanted it. I also think that you had to assign a value to one of the blank "Alias" entries, and I think it changed the field of view. Then you change the value for the Z key to that Alias.

Does anyone know the wording for these lines and all else needed to get a Zoom function similar to the alternate for the Sniper Rifle?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Yeap, you do it just like you said it :) Or use the console. BUT making it zoom (changing field of view to smaller) is considered to be a cheat (ASMD with zoom = owned), at least in Unreal II.

Oh, OK. I didn't know that was cheating. Her eyesight was very poor, so I imagine one of my uncles fixed it for her so she could see better.

Thank you!
