I know it is supposed to be known to any server admin, but I cannot find a direct answer in any of the guides:
- how do I make my server appear in server list when ppl join a game?

I've seen that... it didn't help: I 've tried doing some things mentioned there that seemed related to the problem - no effect.
That's why I hope someone can give a clue like what precisely affects this...

problem.

In short, it's probably a routing issue.
First, check that bAdvertiseServer is set to True in your Unreal.ini (or via preferences from the server console)
If you have a firewall, punch a hole through it at ports 7777-7778 and 27500-27900 for the application "Unreal.exe"
If you have a router, you're going to have to forward ports 7777-7778, 27500-27900, both being UDP protocol. THIS might be complicated, as each router has a different configuration interface... see your manufacturer's website for details on that.

THANKS! That's it!
badvertiseserver=true
no info in google, even no idea in which part of the ini file to insert it, so I just inserted it into everything network-related and it worked!!!

Isn't it called "DoUplink"?

I have a server set up but it isn't showing in the coop tab on the U Browser server window and now that it does an uplink, I don't think Unreal counts it as a LAN server anymore. In GameSpy Lite, it shows up as an inoperational server, but if I connect to it with the myservername.com console code as admin, I can get on and it works perfectly. How do I get it to appear on the coop tab? :-/

Is it a usual COOP? UnrealShare.CoopGame? Otherwise it might add it to another tab that you can't normally see.

It is in fact set under COOP, but I use the little launch dedicated server operation, but if I should use a batch file, I have one ready. Does it only work with batch files? I've only got it to work as a LAN server. Not it the browser for others to connect to. Does the host machine have to be a server computer for an Unreal server to broadcast, or is that left for the "Master Server" to do?

No, batch files are only for simplicity. You can navigate and run UCC from the usual command prompt or just launch it from the usual Unreal.
Check if "Optimise for LAN" is unchecked and that in yur Unreal.INI the lines DoUplink and bAdvertiseServer are set to True.
The server sends its info to the Master Server and then the master lists it. The server alone has nothing to do with listing itself.
