Hidden/Beta Skin Packs

The Hidden Skins pack contains 13 skins that came with Unreal but were "hidden" and could not be used by players until it was released. Inculded are 2 Female2 skins, 7 Male1 skins, 1 Male2 skin and 3 Nali skins. The Nali player model is in itself hidden but can and has been "unlocked" in the past. Instructions on how to do so are inculded.

There's also the Beta Skins Pack which features 5 skins extracted and converted from the '97 Beta (that this place doesn't seem to like for some reason). Contained within are 1 Male1 skin, 3 further Nali skins and even 1 Skaarj skin. These skins did not make it into the final game but now are available for all to enjoy.

That would be nice. There are many skin packages already, but all require support of the server. And because every server has different 'custom' skin packages, I consider them useless for myself.

Do you have any screens of what they look like?

Well i've made a preliminary release of the "Unreal Hidden Skins Pack". Atm it is constructed like a usual Skin pack and can only be used offline unless a server also has the UHSP installed.

Please note that atm it only has the 10 hidden human skins as I could not get the hidden Nali skins showing on the Player Setup screen (and yes I know how to get Unreal to see the NaliPlayer).

These skins are already in the files indeed, but normal Unreal will not allow you to use them.

UTeamFix 10+ can load them in DM type games, you just have to load them manually. I didn't bother including an INT file since I knew the skin loader was borked and also limited in the number of skins to list.

Believe me, they work with human players too in UTF 10+ despite the fact it says "botskins".

The Nali is missing because of no support. That's because it is also buggy up to 226b/f.

The hidden Nali player is fully usable with a small change to your int file:

You can also check this page for the "Pawn" and "Eye" playerclasses, although many servers block these nowadays.

There actually a better way than whats on TheMaster.nl pages.

Copy the whole Skaarj line and paste it below it, than change in that new line Skaarj into Nali, in that way you have both the Skaarj and the Nali skin available in your playersetup.

Plays fine tho... though the Nali is a bit slow and has only 80 health.

And even the health can be set serversided, i know its possible, i just do not know how. But in the past an admin did that for me, giving me 100 health on spawn and pickup.

I have not had the time to have a good look at them, because of the Anthology boxset and the updates on the site. But as soon as i got to the skin section i will hve a better look at it

Also, I was browsing around celticwarriors.net and managed to find a page with my maps on it. I noticed that my name was spelt wrong (TheEmperorStalwardUK? Since I can't do much esle with the UHSP, I might dust it off (Give Unreal, RTNP and prehaps the beta too a sweep for any skins not inculded already) and give it some final tweaking before declaring it final.

It is very difficult to keep track of new work :-/ , or for that matter old work lol. We always ask people to submit their work to us, it will always be added to the site, mostly within 24 hours or so. And as said, if you got more than five pieces of work you will get your own page. But please submit your own work without us asking it..........

So I searched through RTNP to see if there were skins I haven't got anyway... didn't find any. Then I picked through the 97 Beta and hauled out a few worthy skins: A Male1 skin, 3 Nali skins and even a SkTrooper skin. I have also spent a little bit of time and took out the Nali team skins from UT and managed to get them working with Unreal.

The thing is, I don't know if I should add these Nali team skins to the HSP or not so I've decided let you all decide (There seems to be no way to add a poll to a existing thread on thsese forums). I may also craft some SkTrooper team skins in the future if the Nali team skins get inculded.

With all those additional Beta skins that now means that the HSP has at least 18 skins to choose from. Here's the new breakdown of what's on offer:

• 2 Female2 skins
• 8 Male1 skins (was 6)
• 1 Male2 skin
• 6 Nali skins (was 3)
• and 1 SkTrooper skin (was 0)

And finally a bit of bad news... the SkTrooper skin, though selectable on the player setup screen doesn't seem to work in the game itself. I have no idea what causes this since I am relativitly new to skinning (a few months back I couldn't make heads or tails of it all). If anyone knows what could cause this please tell me since the sooner that I can release this the better. A new batch of screenshots of all the skins may be coming soon.

The Beta stuff is almost a complete seperate department with the Beta itself, repaired maps, converted maps, converted mods, released musuc. If i were you make a seperated download for the Beta skins. In that way everyone knows where its comming from, and its from historical perspective more sound. The same may apply to the UT skins.

I shall take you advice. The HSP (R2) that has been released shall stand. The Nali team skins and the beta skins shall be released seperatly.

Nali team skins shall be made available later today (I already have got the skins themselves up and running, just need to write the readme and zip it). The Beta skills will be probably released sometime later this week. Both will be submitted to celtiwarriors.net as well.

As for the technical question, I think it has happened to me before but I managed to solve it somehow, I'll investigate the issue in a bit more detail.

As for the TD and SE, unless a method of extracting textures from the TD has been found, nothing shall come from there and as for the SE, I would be suprised if anything new is hidden away in there.
