Problems?

This might be the wrong area to post, but I don't know.

I have the OpenGL and the S3TC textures, but when I play unreal, everything is completley dark. I need to use a searchlight in the lightest places. even then, it doesnt help much. My monitor does not have a brightness/contrast/gamma setting, or knob, on it. Is there a way to fix this?

Did you adjust the gamma in video options ?
It can also be done by pressing F11.

It is kinda strange thoug, because OpenGL already adds alot more light to it, which is what D3D users always complained about.

But Jazz Ad is right, you can change the Gamma with F11. And most videocards also have a gamma setting in their options, so if its still too dark, you might wanna see if you have that option on your card as well.

Try this:

Close Unreal, open your unreal.ini file and look for an option like GammaOffset. (Under the OpenGL section) Try to increase the number a bit, like 0.2 instead of 0.0. Experiment a bit for a good value.

I fixed it. :)
I needed to put S3TC on True.
But when it's False allot of textures are pure black and some white.

Oh yeah, thats a different description alright lol. For that reason its never bad to post a screenshot. Indeed, if S3TC isnt set to True than the textures apear incorrect, and look like static bands that can be seen on a television if it doesnt receive anything.

When you said black i asumed it had to do with another actual glitch that sometimes(at random and very, very rare to begin with) apears on Masked surfaces, except you told its on all the textures, which was weird (and new) to me. If possible always give a screenshot, cause in this case i would have know inmediatelly what the problem would have been :) And i am sure Hyper too :)
