Couple of questions....

Firstly, well donw on the 227 patch seems to work reasonably well on original unreal, but is it compatible with Return to NaPali ? before I install it there and mess up my NaPali install :)

Other question I was curious about I know that both the Unreal and the UT99 source code have been released in a limited form for patches like 227 to be made, but well it strikes me that both are fairly old games, couldn't the source be released mor generally I mean UT99 was out at the same time as Quake 3, which has had a complete source release ? Ok, it's in the end up to Epic, in the end and we have no right to expect that they release it, and I guess they do have their reasons, but hell even 3drealms where eventually pursuaded to release the RoTT/DN3D source :) :) :)

Cheers.

Phill.

Current patch works on UGold as well, but it lacks RTNP support yet.
Working on it, the next build will probably have RTNP as well.

Epic doesn't want the sources to be public, it took me years, hundreds of mails and good luck to get them.
Guess only patience and being pertinacious is the reason why 227 can be done now.

iD software has always handled these things differently than Epic - much more friendly :-P

Don't forget that even though Quake and other sources are public, it does NOT mean you are allowed to just download the game off some site somewhere. The content files are still very much commercial and subject to copyright. Only the engine itself was freed, so community mods/enhancements and ports to other operating systems could be made.
