When should we expect the next update for 227? :-?

I'm guessing sometime next year, or a few months. Only Smirftsch can really tell, I guess.
You saw how long it took Smirftsch to release 227a right? 227b (or w\e the hell) could take awhile...

Well he's already fixed alot of bugs...and it took em so long to do 227 cause he writing the entire patch! Not just a few updates and bug fixes
I'd think it'd be around a month maybe

we've gotten quite a few fixes, a few major ones with rendering, a ton of minor script fixes, and one that could mean a much more stable unreal in general

Closed-beta tests have much fewer contributors, this open beta test has alot more room for help, bugfixing and script fixes. It shouldn't be TOO long >_>

GUESS What, this dragon has a
HORRIBLE sense of time..
Lol... Well I hope it comes out soon anyways. I hate the mirrored fatness glitch in the renderer already...

Wow are those comments really necessary? Btw 666 has no relevance to Satan or any of that, if that's what you're even implying. Hm, I wonder how rabbit soup tastes?! mm lol.. or should I say "l......."
Who knows on when Smirf's next release is out, but the more people get involved the sooner it will be. Btw, Jackrabbit in the near future can you host a 227 server so we can test stuff out? Oh yeah and I love your 227 promotion map. Hahahah..
Nedm. Obama rules Hillary sucks.

What in the hell did I do to piss you off? Listen to Leo, this is not the place to start flames.
You're always insulting me, 666? That's NOT my favorite number, it's 2147483647, which is 2^32.
And if you're a rabbit, post a picture of yourself please..
You're going to get this topic locked... Thanks.
EDIT: If you dare edit your post to make both me and Mew look like jackass's, you're going to regret it. I copy pasted the original text and for that matter, screen shot it also. So I ask for a apology from you, please.

I'm glad enough that he took up on this project. Unreal is without a doubt my favorite game and I would never be able to carry on such a thing.
The 227 and hi resolution textures are a fantastic addition, a free one to top it all.
I'm not gonna complain about the time it takes.

Well said, already seeing from the "fixed bugs" thread i can see smirftsch is putting in ALOT of work into it, more then i can ever imagine doing so myself.
respect to smirftsch for keeping his head cool with all those dozens of bug reports, i can tell that requires alot of devotion!

Yeah so much work, makes me wonder if he gets any decent hours of rest. I sure don't, but hell, isn't 227 a "community project" of sorts?
All these bug fixes I'll be surprised if 227 is more stable than anything. Oh wow the doubles reconnect bug in 226b\226f, where you reconnect and there are fake players in the scoreboard ,etc.. Wow I hate that.

the one time I actually agree with Shivaxi
I'm drooling for the new update. With all the bugfixes posted, this is looking like the "perfect" version of unreal.

bugfixing for somthing this large will take a VERY long time to weed out, but we've had about that long to find the 226 and pre 226 bugs, and then we have to bugfix the renders and new native code..

I agree that it in theroy "should" take a very long time. I also do believe that more than 1 beta should be released:
227a 227b 227c 227d.... I'm not sure if this is how the rest of you guys think would be bet the best route. But for testing puposes, I think it would be the best naming system

i honestly rather have it so every bug is weeded out and we won't be stuck with several minor quickfixes.

I've seen a game that the developers decided to update it up to 10 times a day! No kidding, they make many little updates for any little detail like "damage nerfed", "health increased", "fixed a bug in animation...". So many updates per day that sometimes players update and a new version is released 1h later! It's the worst scheme that I've ever seen, fix a bug in this version, next version the update reads "rollback, still not fixed", then in the next "fixed again", and the next "disabled, nobody seems to use this new feature...".

thats the way I wanted to go. Of course I'd love to release 227b and everything is fine, but I'm afraid it will be not that easy...

Nothing is really easy at all, Smirftsch. Jackrabbit, have you ever looked at the way Internal Releases are? There's no such thing as C or D, it's either A or B.
Even I take my time with UScript, I can imagine how hard and tedious it is to work with actual C++ native code. I only looked at the "Public Headers", pfft, Epic...
I'll still wait for the time when the next 227 release will come, Jackrabbit will have to wait to but I don't think he can seeing how he's talking about "227c 227d"... PFFT! It does NOT work that way Jackrabbit.... Seriously...

You're so immature.....
Does anyone know why certain ADPCM formats cause the ENTIRE FMod audio drive to crash out with a "Invalid format"? That getting really annoying. I can provide a crash log if it helps.
