not in the beta release, but in the final for sure. Still looking for a satisfying solution for the napali problem (same for ugold)this may have been asked already (couldnt find it in the search though) but anyway, will the 227 patch address the Anthology version of U1?

Basicly Anthology=UGold, thus the UPak.dll problem...

Re: 227 beta release
wouldn't the best solution to be simply modifying upak? everyone who updates gets this new incarnation?Basicly Anthology=UGold, thus the UPak.dll problem...
Awhile back i tried forcing upak to run under 226f, removed references so i got it to run without upak.dll however then it complained about unrealshare.logo and umenu :-/
anyway i'm glad to know there will be a solution for the final, us gold users can wait a little longer anyway 8-)

Re: 227 beta release
Technically not yes, however epic made a statement a few years ago (cannot cite it atm), that people are permitted to modify/rip any epic content provided it is only used for unreal engine modding, so i could only assume we can do anything with upak.I believe UPak is NOT part of the original NDA...
I considered this carefully when i modified the spacemarine models for asgard, as originally this would be illegal because i used the copyrighted work of legend entertainment as a base.

Re: 227 beta release
Which is EXACTLY the krux here....
(Epic != Legend) == true
:-/
Don't wanna pick hairs here, but I'd say... however epic made a statement a few years ago (cannot cite it atm), that people are permitted to modify/rip any epic content provided it is only used for unreal engine modding....

Re: 227 beta release
well you have a point, but you're still wrong here:
Epic made this statement shortly after people asked about the legal issues of porting XMP to UT2003 (what became UTXMP), now we all know XMP and Unreal2 was entirely legend's work, yet epic gave us permission to screw and rip everything from it whenever we want! epic made it clear that especially now legend is gone everything unreal is their property.
so in conclusion we could do anything with upak that we want, provided we keep it with the unreal engine 8-)
to summarize this: everything unreal (incl u2 and RTNP) = epic's decision.

Wait, doesn't Atari own Epic now?well you have a point, but you're still wrong here:

Atari used to be their publisher up to 2004
now Midway is their publisher
Legend Entertainment however, was property of Atari, and they made the decision to liquidate Legend, however Unreal, RTNP and U2 are epic's property.

Re: 227 beta release
Anthology uses its own versions of
UnrealI.u
Unrealshare.u
causes the client to have version conflicts with non-anthology servers.
