It's not available anymore, use Terrain Brush instead.

I doubt he knows how to vertex edit it...and/or it's consequences

I know there's a thread already on here explaining how to vertex edit and all the sh*t that comes with it....to lazy to find the post now...not enough time...

Re: the floor lofter?
You can use TerraEdit but it makes bs results (lots of BSp).
I'll probably allocate some time later for making a tool similar to TerraEdit but it's gonna save the brush to look like it's been made with Terrain Brush.

Anyway, I never liked Terra edit for the same reason you stated.

I never used the terrain tool. Shiv or other experienced mappers should be able to help though.
Make another installation of Unreal and patch to 225f.is there an patch to get the old unrealEd back.

Re: the floor lofter?
If you patch to 225f, get the editor fix or whatever, too...
With terrain brush, you have to edit its vertices (select the brush, click on a dot where two or moar lines connect, hold alt and move) but that's still crash prone a bit in 227f (fixed in 227g) and can cause a disaster if you're using for the first time to make a real map. Experiment first and when you get some experience, use it in a real map.
Actually I'll write a tutorial for that later and put it in wiki, but now I gotta go get school books, make a photo of myself and make bus ticket so bbl.

Check out the wiki and my other thread and make sure you did everything that is mentioned.

Re: the floor lofter?
You can't delete single surfaces of a brush, but I don't see the point in that... That would make huge BSP errors and BSP holes would cut your map in little pieces... If you want to make something like a hole in a wall, or a passage, make a brush with corresponding shape and substract it.

Re: the floor lofter?
Open Actor Browser (click the icon that looks like a pawn), then expand [+] NavigationPoint, and find PlayerStart. Click on PlayerStart (once, not twice). Now right-click the point in your map where you want the player to start, click "Add PlayerStart here" and then you can play the map. Also you can move the PlayerStart around or delete it and make a new one (make more of them for DM maps), but ALWAYS keep at least one PlayerStart in your map because the game can't tell the starting point on its own = you have to place a marker (PlayerStart).

if you dont have an start point you get an error with "map need an playerstart'' and not an error with cant spawn player object. the problem is AFTER putting an player start in the map.

Make sure the playerstart isn't in a small space ie: one where a player can't fit, or in a wall.

Re: the floor lofter?
If you have a really bad bsp error, the engine could, I guess, think the "inside" is still" outside", making it impossible to spawn the player. This goes back to your earlier question about the BSP hole.
You must construct additional pylons.

Re: the floor lofter?
The only advices we can give you are the generic advices : use powers of 2 as dimensions, keep your brushes on the grid, snap the vertices on the grid etc... Otherwise, it's a matter of knowing what works and what doesn't.
I'm sure correcting the problems of your map would not be that hard.

Re: the floor lofter?
First make a copy of your map in current state, then try removing brushes one by one and see which is causing the problem. Then load the map with all brushes and delete just the fu[ch1089]ked up one and try again.
