Tips & Tricks: Hunting hidden actors

Post by Chaos13 »

Ever added an actor that doesnt has a mesh or doesnt has any way to display? No problem! This guide will give you a way how to delete such a whore :P
Firstly, you need to know class of actor. If you dont know you wouldnt be able to do anything useful without f**king up entire level aka YOU PHAIL.
Ok, you know class, you need to type several commands in log \ command window to track down your actor.
Firstly enter "Set bHiddenEd False", where under we mean class of actor which you are trying to make to appear.
Secondly, do "Set Texture S_Actor". Nothing happens, right? ;D Go to next step
Thirdly, type "Set DrawType DT_Sprite". If you cant see or find actor then you should do next step.
Fourthly, send "Set DrawScale 10". Now you should be able to see the actor. ;) If you still cant, do the following final step after you MUST be able to see it.
Fifthly, strike in "Set Style STY_Normal". Then you must see the pos.
Alternative way: one step.
Strike in "Set Actor bSelected False" then "Set bSelected True". The easiest way to select hidden bs actors :P[/color]

Umm, wrong. Use Search For Actors and you won't need the class name - only the beginning. And then double click, you select it, hit F4 to get the properties and enjoy your GUI :D

This one is related to UnrealEd1 too, you wont find "search for actors" in that version.

Oh, well then it should be in the UEd forum :) Or just mention that one section is for UEd1, the other is for UEd 2.

If the stated method works for both UnrealEd 1 and 2, it's fine here. Anyways, you have also posted the Ed 2 method. Maybe I should have this post in both locations - LoL.

Or if somebody wants to post each method in its own topic, I'll make sure they're where they belong.

It works in any unreal editor
Skydev = Chaos13 = Dimension4

Return to “UnrealEd 2, the editor for UnrealTournament”
