My friend has the GOTY version of the original UT99, it has two discs, the second disc DOES include a few S3TC texture packs ( I used instructions on how to get them to run in Unreal 1 with OMP's OpenGL thanks everyone! ), did the original UT99 ( non GOTY ) have two discs or was everyone referring to the GOTY disc 2?

It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

As far as I know standard UT has also 2nd disc (as well as Totally Unreal). But those textures are uncompleted, URP has more finished packages then in UT 2nd disc.

If i am correct:
Unreal (1 CD)
Contains Unreal.
UnrealGold (1 CD)
Contains UnrealGold and RTNP mission pack.
Unreal Mission pack (1 CD)
Contains RTNP and requires Unreal or UT.
UT (1 or 2 CD's ?)
Contains UT but lacks S3TC textures.
UT G.O.T.Y. (2 CD's)
Contains UT, the Chaos mod and the S3TC textures are included on the 2nd CD.
Totally Unreal (4 CD's)
Contains Unreal, RTNP and UT G.O.T.Y. which should include the S3TC textures.
As for the S3TC textures for Unreal, you are much better of with the textures form the URProject.
- Packages contain fixes for all misaligned textures.
- More than 1000 Mb of new S3TC textures.
- Textures are ready for use compared to the UT 2nd CD texures.
Choice between:
- High resolution, which is super high (on averidge 1024 - 2048 pixels)
- Low resolution, which is still very high (on averidge 1024 pixels)
As for UT, if you play online you HAVE to use the 2nd CD textures, for SP you can safelly use the S3TC textures from the URProject.

The Unreal Tournament Retexturing Project (UTRP or UTRProject) has already started between the curtains and yes we already have texture packages that can be used for off and online playing
I have been testing the textures for the last week and a half and didnt encounter any serious problems online.
This means that when the UTRProject starts official (within a month from now if all goes well) i will also release the netcompatible textures for UT. So far the tests are positive, they do bypass Pure anti cheat just fine. Other anti cheat is being tested at this moment, as well to see if the so called skating players glitch can be fixed as well.
But regardless what, the new packages CAN be used for UT, and CAN be used online without causing any conflics with the current servers.

Err I was tired I meant to say UT99 Diehard, lol...... Sorry about that.
Yeah I know about the textures everyone is making, they look better than UT3, I mean wth... UT3 is using bump maps excessively. What a ridiculous effect.
This one computer panel texture off the disc 2 in UT GOTY has the text "Eat at joes" on it. I wonder who came up with that joke.

And i asume theres more insiders referals in the numbers, and i used that idea myself to add a few referrals myself in the Vscreen1 from PlayrShp
