Software and D3D7 rendering drivers in v469e

UT now belongs to the "old" Unreal as well. Supporting it for OpenGL and Sound its time to put up a board now.

Software and D3D7 rendering drivers in v469e

Post by vbdasc »

Please excuse my idiotic question, but is there any easy way to enable the Software rendering or the Direct3D 7 rendering in the latest v469e patch? Neither of these seem available in the rendering drivers selection list in the Safe Mode. Is this by design or it's just an omission?

Quit the game if it is running.
Open UnrealTournament\System\UnrealTournament.ini

Go to section
[Engine.Engine]
Put a comment for the line GameRenderDevice to save your current setting as backup:
;GameRenderDevice=XOpenGLDrv.XOpenGLRenderDevice

Under that make a new line
GameRenderDevice=SoftDrv.SoftwareRenderDevice
-or-
GameRenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice

NOT BOTH AT THE SAME TIME

Please note that software rendering will not work with high res (S3TC/HD) textures installed
