I know that this is primarily a UnrealEd 2.x forum; but can anyone lend help with UnrealEd 3?
It is insanely stuttery and laggy. The game runs flawlessly, but the editor slouches along. It takes 5-10 seconds for any click to really take any effect in any of the viewports.
My machine has 64g ram and an RTX 3070. I disabled AA for the app in the graphics card settings.
Any ideas?

It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!
If you have any further concerns feel free to contact me: Smirftsch@oldunreal.com

This is a very old problem.
You can try setting all parameters for UnrealEd.exe to maximum performance in Nvidia control panel, not just AA
It helped me.
Or rename UnrealEd.exe and create separate parameters for it.

This is a well known problem affecting UnrealEd 3.0 on Windows vista and later. Clicking to select freezes the editor for several seconds, sometimes a full minute.hooli wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 4:03 am I know that this is primarily a UnrealEd 2.x forum; but can anyone lend help with UnrealEd 3?

However, you are incredibly lucky, a fix has been developed very recently.
Download the new renderer and replace UT2004's with it.
This is still actively researched and developed, however, so expect a few bugs. Selecting fluidsurfaceinfos and coronas is troublesome, for example.
You must construct additional pylons.

Cases like these are why it's useful to keep a spare XP machine.
