It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

Same deal as the threads in developmental, but now that the patch has gone public, this is for a potential v227k.

Pull requests are welcome in https://github.com/NeonKnightOA/unreal-localization. All localizations are completely functional and (hopefully) have all their strings localized, however there's always that one (or, sigh, many) case(s).

What needs to be tested? The usual: Look for inconsistencies, errors, etc.

What actually helps? Well... Pull requests here, suggestions about better lines in which files (i.e. "the line XXXXXXXXXXXXXX could be better written as YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY"), fixed files uploaded in this thread...

What actually DOESN'T help? Well... Being told that the whole thing has errors (I KNOW, I CAN'T DO EVERYTHING ON MY OWN!), and being told that everyone should play in English.

Portuguese translations:
Example: In Vortex2.ptt the translation is very correct. But in the game some characters do not appear in words.

The Portuguese language works a lot with ..ão ..ões suffixes of words. For now it was just this TYPE of flaw found in the translation. The translation files appear to be impeccable. However, in the transport to the game something causes certain characters not to be displayed.

I believe if a case is fixed. All PT translation will be completed. From what I've seen, this is the only case that is being lost. the "ã" in words ending in "ão". (The translation in the .ptt file is wonderful. My consumer dream. Play Unreal in my language). I believe this is also the case for the person who did the translation, as they did an excellent job.

I revised the portuguese translation. As posted by me above I had seen it without "..ã" and decided to check the Portuguese language files. I came across the following (and below is the zipped file with all the language files you can see by the modification date that I've been correcting it for 2 days. Today I started at 1:00 AM, finished now at 15:41 PM, I got up early ;P:

Do you know if they will be able to fix what I mentioned about the caption being right, but the character doesn't appear in the game?

Yesterday, doing the roundup for a preliminary changelog, I figured out that some of the changes weren't merged. 🤦‍♂️

So today I'll fix that.

Hello! If russian localization still have no fonts for menu, can i suggest to you a fonts from old russified unreal by "Волк 7" as possible variant for example? This is was the translation which with i played first and for a long times.

I know, this translation is far from ideal, but fonts is actually usable I think. I know that's standart fonts like Tahoma works fine, but this one variant is more stylish; or I dunno any more alternatives.

Also, All Russian unofficial localizations not used unicode - russian letters replaсed english symbols in Ascii table
For correct localization, need utx file with textured unicode symbols.
But command line "#exec Font Import File=" not supported unicode,
and command line "#exec new TrueTypeFontFactory" not supported textured fonts.
At the moment I don't know how to solve this problem.

Кроме того, они использовали ASCII символы вместо Юникода, что в рамках КОРРЕКТНОЙ локализации невозможно.
Проблема заключается в том, что в рамках корректной локализации НЕВОЗМОЖНО создать текстурный шрифт с символами Юникода - он может быть либо белым, либо цветным, но не разноцветным как в оригинале.
