I'm currently in the process of integrating the lost server at a different location. I've already set the address to the new location, so the original link
http://ptmc.linkpc.net:30080/
already works and I do see the google bot already visiting. On the old location the service was also available at the standard HTTP port 80, but on this location I need to keep that port closed for... reasons...
Anyway, I've already integrated a large portion of the old files, Unreal and UT related maps, mods etc, however it's not yet complete - I figure about 90%-ish. I had to restructure it a bit as well so anyone having hard links somewhere to the files, will have to re-link them.
Also there will also be a shutdown this coming Tuesday because the city decided it's time everyone gets one of those "smart electric meters" installed that allows every hacker with some skill to manipulate everybody's electricity bills at will via remote. Brilliant idea...
Now here's where I need some assistance:
I've also been hosting a public mirror of Die Hard's s3tc packages for Unreal and UT. It was one of the mirrors linked from Unrealtexture and Celtic Warriors. DieHard had a direct FTP access to the mirror so he could update it whenever and however he saw fit. I did run occasional backups of course, but I relied on him for the files to be in order, there was no automated integrity check.
I've come across one file now which I can not be sure about.
edeb2fa452ef34f0e5c397cf2d1ebfa7abc3233234c46e29d3e7aaf05e8fd80b *Unreal_HighEnd_DecayedS.zipSize: 182.870.789 bytes - Datestamp: Sunday, 11 December 2011, 20:05:47
When I try to list it, I get an error saying the file is corrupt. I can unpack it anyway with an "Unexpected EOF warning" which yields two files:
c72724ade075283f74dbd4f4f2e3e740676dd409e599164c594491dfebd0822c *DecayedS.utx 163d7ca3a25ef2d39a3cdb52575d49a1c42014f50e2a6fa37b63cc8b80b11bb4 *Warning_Read_Me.txtSizes and Timestamps are:
281.553.197 bytes Sunday, 25 September 2011, 13:59:48
4.636 bytes, Sunday, 25 September 2011, 22:40:06
The thing is, the BACKUP is identical. This means that most likely I got this file exactly as it is directly from DieHard. I can not be sure if that file is still "in order" or if some hidden bit-corruption in the unpacked utx file has taken place.
I've been at archive.org but I only found the "Extreme" version of the zip file, not the "HighEnd" one.
Celtic Warriors and Unrealtexture are down / sold by now, nothing of relevance to see there.
I've looked through Hyper's public web site mirrors and while he has the complete original page, it seems he either doesn't have the zip files or hasn't translated the links - either way I couldn't get the file from there for comparison either.
If any of you people could look through your downloads and compare the file mentioned and tell me what's what, it would be nice. If there's an "uncorrupted" file I'd gladly want to have it to replace the one in question for my mirror. If the unpacked file is still good bitwise then I'll just make a new zipfile, but I need to be sure it's ok.
All the above checksums are SHA-256 btw.
Thanks in advance to anyone giving me some insights.
