I'm pretty sure I was, but ultimately that doesn't matter, I've decided that XMP sucks

If it didn't absolutely wreck the ability of the editor to create and modify single player levels I wouldn't mind it

It's a shame, I enjoyed the editor not running at a snail's pace too ;(

I bet you installed the GOG edition in the same directory, both "parts". That's not what you should have done, even though it makes it unclear and is easy to make that mistake. Both u2xmp and unreal2 are technically separate games. Don't install it over another and expect it all to work unless you know what you're doing.
