It's been quite a while since oldunreal had an overhaul, but we are moving to another server which require some updates and changes. The biggest change is the migration of our old reliable YaBB forum to phpBB. This system expects you to login with your username and old password known from YaBB.
If you experience any problems there is also the usual "password forgotten" function. Don't forget to clear your browser cache!

makemeunreal's Unreal Corner -MOD RELEASE THREAD-
Due to the ammount of addons I created I somehow lost track of how many of them got released, which forums did I release them on etc.
My addons (in general) got no attention but those who gave some feedback tend to complain about the presentation, the broken links the missing pictures and just about the overall picture.
In an attempt to fix this I'm going to create this topic on pretty much every Unreal related medium so those who are interested can easily see the mods for themselves.
Reach the mods easily by clicking to the link placed next to the mod's name.
Note that the link will take you to the "central" release thread located at oldunreal.com !

I decided to scatter some items around et voilá! here is DmSpajz a fun little basic map.
Set in an old factory, Spajz not fails to deliver a thrilling atmosphere accompanied with lighting-fast action.

It is a very old map that has been used as like a "teaching tool".
I thaught my sister about mapping using this map.
It was a good idea as she was into Minecraft back then.
It's a fully functional fun little DM map tho.

This map is a perfect example of my content-hungry campaign. It was started with almost no plans in my mind. The very first brush must be more than 8 years old.
With no story, I canned the ready-to-be-played map, only to lose it in a HDD crash. Lucky me, I've sent it to a few friends for playtest and one of them still had an early version.
Heated by curiosity I opened it in the editor and decided to give it some story and release it.

DMSkaarjPrivateers started as an attempt to bring the glorius "UVehicles" mod to the battlefield.
DMSkaarjPrivateers features a big "space-arena" map, with other ships acting as covers for your shuttle.
- No bot support. -
- Map WON'T have bot support due to the mod's/engine's nature. -
- Spaceships were taken from UVehicles mod which I included in the package. -
- The ships are modified and can be found MyLeveled. -
- The map was made for our "clan", but I decided to release it for the sake of Unreal. -
- It's a Release Candidate, the map will be updated. -

Colliding Worlds is project of mine based upon the idea of merging some Unreal levels into one big, sandbox-like experience.
How do Unreal levels look like in the editor?
Unreal levels look like a house without it's walls, just the bare rooms.
Even the sky you see is just a projection of another room called the SkyBox. A map can have multiple outside areas, but they won't be connected in any way.
How many maps can be stitched together? What are the engine limits?
There are (of course) serius engine limits which we cannot pass right now.
The play area is strictly limited too, even with warpzones.
The biggest edit I made consisted of:
-Vortex Rikers
-NyLeve's Falls
-Dig
-Dug
-Passage
-Chizra
-Ceremony
-Dark Arena
(Note that these long corridors were palceholders)
Can the limitations be extended?
Yes, in case you use Static Meshes.

A map I made for UnrealGold's CTF variant called Real CTF.
No bot support due to the use of static meshes. Note that static meshes are only supported in UGold 227.
Expect massive ammounts of plants and tress as usual. That's my style you know.

The burnt, hot rock texture is made by me, but it's not seamless. I was even more lazy back then.

A few recently recovered screenshots gave me the idea to recreate the Vortex-crash-scenario Unreal's trailer showed us.
These shots were a great help as they matched up with the version the trailer depicted. They were a lot better quality, and showed the crashed site from a different angle revealing the whole scenario.
A called it semi-beta to point out the fact, that Unreal may had this crash-scenario used somewhere in it's long development line.
The newly recovered screenshots and a few images I took from the trailer:
One can clearly see the differences including:
-Not two, but three waterfalls are present!
-An overall darker atmosphere
-The different Vortex Rikers-crash-scenario
-Plants on top of the ridges
-Some plants had to be removed from the bottom level tho
-The crashsite has a different texture
-They used more of those cool-looking blue light emitting columns
-The hidden Warlord Encounter were present at the time they took the shots so I restored that as well

Just a VERY buggy DM map. I was 'bout to throw it away but then decided to release it no matter what a bugfest it is. It's new content after all.
Note that it's an Unreal Gold DM map which requires 227 to run. There are a few textures MyLeveled I made.
Well, already spent too much time writin' this. I'm tired. Gotta sleep till next year.

Installation:
Drop the files to their correspondent folders in your Unreal install's directory.
Please note that this mode won't work outside of Unreal 227i (Haven't tested it in J, but you shouldn't have a problem running it there).
The helicopter itself can be placed into the map in the editor, or via console commands in-game.
How to enter the vehicle? Hold CROUCH right next to it.
How to land the vehicle? Realease every button. It should safely land by itself.
How to exit the vehicle? By pressing the THROW WEAPON key.
Is there a behindview defined for the vehicle? Yes, but no. You can change views. behindview=1 will transform your view into a Apocalypse Now Gunner-style view.

I believe i got them but they are unreal championship/ut2003 beta stuff. Where is this jeep from though? The Warfare leak had one as well but this one looks like its based on a real life one directly. I was discussing at one point with dots that I might port them. either way he converted the static meshes (for u2 vehicles and bulldog) into brush, then he used some tool to turn them into meshes, I am assuming the old meshmaker.
there's also the u2xmp beta raptor btw which had different mesh and skin.
where did you take the hover bikes from then? what version of ut2003 beta or uc?
Afaik even released unreal championship still has them they are just not used there. The int files referenced them unlike ut2003. Release UC has no bulldog though but that was developed for warfare originally.
