ok, we merged now elements from the old and the new design, I hope everyone is happy now (oh and in case you are not happy with it, I really don't want to know this time).

I also hope that the new content and the new wiki pages can find finally some attention.

PS: don't forget to refresh your browser (ctrl+f5) or empty your cache.

Will there be a Part 3? unlike Epic that won't make Unreal 3.

oh my god, this is so terrible man, you are the worst designer I've ever seen, the previous style was so much better. Ever since 2000, this site has gone downhill, and now you've finally run it into the ground, you killed Unreal, UT and all its fans, I hope a thousand fruitflies infest your refrigerator !  Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

Hi Smiley

oops, maybe I will be killed now, but I would like to make one suggestion regarding the Translator symbols.
When I asked about them I didn't see their function at once. I guess, I shouldn't make posts when I'm half asleep Grin

Well as said, it's only a suggestion.
Would it be possible to use them without their original background? I mean, only the Translators on the black background.
I tested that in psp and it really doesn't look bad. I can send a screenshot of it if wished.

And of course the Translator sound should be played when clicking on them Grin
(LOL no, only a joke Wink)

The idea is nice but the resolution is to low to really make out what they are. We know what they are because we player the game so much but for others they are just a bunch of random pixels. Only using the head of the enemy's could solve this.

The comment must be now or?
If you have any problems with the new things here, then make it better.

This new site was a lot of work and we made it in our free time for the community and for the game not for us. If you have too much free time, you can help us Smiley

I noticed that doing this is not really accessible. Mainly the wiki. you need to be emailconfirmed to edit anything. Not sure what this means but I assume I need to send the staff an E-mail to get privilages for editing which is more trouble than editing a wiki should be. For many this will result in a "then not" responds. which could explain why not many people work at the wiki. If I am wrong then the term emailconfirmed is still damn confusing.

But I could try to experiment with the forum icons by taking a screenshot of the forum and just MsPaint them in Cheesy. But not now. School is a Anti-Unreal zone Wink.

you are not entirely wrong, but not right either.
Anyone can confirm his account to be able to edit pages in the wiki with an E-Mail address, without any admin intervention. Only for a very few things like editing the mainpage you would require privileges only an admin can give you.
Its basically nothing more than an advanced spam protection, which is unfortunately required here.

Its also noted directly on top of the mainpage:
"To edit articles in this Wiki you need to have a registered E-Mail address (check Preferences->User profile->E-mail options)."

To show I am not just complaining but can also make myself usefull (atleast i hope Tongue): My first attempt at creating something:

I can't seem to get the Template to work properly though. According to Wikipedia, to give a parameter a default value you need to make it like this:
Code
Select All
{{{parameter_name|default_value}}}

but all I get is a '.

And if you ban me from this planet for the complete disaster i let upon this world (made 2 pages because I didn't know I don't have the rights to delete them Embarrassed) did I atleast have some fun fooling around with Wikitext Cheesy.

No reason to ban anyone, useless stuff will be deleted as things go.

This template is a very good idea. I thought about doing something like that, but it's just so much work I didn't have the courage to do it.
If things work, I suggest simply deleting all the different pages for each individual map and replacing them with a long page containing just this template a bazillion times, once for each map. It'll look cleaner.

EDIT: just checked your template: I don't understand your problem: it works as intended.

I meant this:

I also noted you removed the Download parameter. I am fine with this but where do you plan to put the dowload link then?

Edit: Little probrem with the category you added. Every page this template will be used on gets this category aswell Undecided

I opened a new page and simply added
Quote:
{{UserMap}}

When previewed, the template showed the default values, and no '.

I did not. You must have forgotten to add it. I only deleted a few blank spaces

I left out the noinclude param. Mistake fixed.

OH I SEE

You actually get the apostrophes (') if you add the field name and leave it blank (as you did in your userpage:
Quote:
Custom_texture =

If you simply don't add the field (i.e delete the line), then the default value is added.

So that
Quote:
{{usermap
|custom_sound = MyCoolSound.uax
|Custom_texture =}}

will give you

Quote:
Custom sound: MyCoolSound.uax
Custom_texture: '

but

Quote:
{{usermap
|custom_sound = MyCoolSound.uax}}

will give you

Quote:
Custom sound: MyCoolSound.uax
Custom_texture: Unknown

So yeah, simply don't add the lines if you plane on keeping the default value. I can't tell if it's intended to work this way or if that's a problem in our own wiki (or if wikipedia has a workaround).
