DmBeyondtheSun has the music file inside music in order to play during the game (or load it in a custom level). Yet DmRetrospective appears to be missing Soeren and still manages to play. How is that possible without the file needed to play it? Also, is there some kind of protection that makes it so you can't play it in a level, as it doesn't seem to work when I attempt to save the music file in the editor.

The music is just embedded.
Tried to save it on my desktop, worked fine. But if that doesn't work for you, you could try to export and re-import as well.

Embedded files? I didn't know that was possible in maps.

Odd, I tried saving it various places and it never showed up. When I tried to export it the file apparently would corrupt itself (perhaps it isn't saving everything) so importing it back into the editor or into another music editor compatible with both filetypes is not an option for me. :\

Try exporting into c:\, unrealed doesnt like long paths.

Nothing... strange. No error messages, just refusing to save it for some reason. I have exported other music files in the past (converted from mp3 to work ingame). So this is definitely an odd quirk.

Could it have anything to due with the fact that  the embedded music  file looks to be a  OGG encoded music  file , and unrealed wants to export it only as a s3m tracker file?

of course the file is corrupted ..it not the correct  file extension , and your editor and music player is seeing it as corrupt due to that fact.(at least)

workarounds:
option 1
try renaming theexported  file to .ogg ,

option2
open dmretrospective ,  then open the level you wish to use the music in.
Set somthing to reference the music in your map , save your map ,
unreal will suck the music file into your mapfile...

I tried option 1. It worked perfectly with exporting! Thanks for the help, everything worked out fine Smiley.
