I believe DN3DR was ready for a public multiplayer beta but GBX forced them to hold onto it until specified - and they never gave them a release window.

Bump - How is progress going on this?
Anyway, a method that could probably work well with the fake global illumination is to use several "radiosity lights" for each bounce, and then the lightmap should be rebuilt after each pass (it would probably be recommended to check "bBuildOnlyChangedLighting" first) - First time after the direct lighting, next build again for each bounce.

Is this project going on? I haven't heard anything about this for like a month.

Only minor progress in the last few weeks!  Nothing really to show unfortunately!

Blame the Steam summer sale and the Guild Wars 2 Beta weekend!  Call it a quik break from editing to have some fun!  Cheesy

Someone should do a New Model of the Unreal 1 Sniper Rifle and add those Spikes on the End of the Barrel but make those Spike seeable. My Guess they were used for stabbing enemies.

Tho I really like the UT99 Sniper Rifle it was the best out of the whole series.

'Diamax' made a custom sniper rifle for Sinji's UT2004 release of Jergen & Buster's (me) Dm-ZahltagSniper. It's a sweet weapon. So, just Google the map name if you're interested in taking a look at it.

I Hated the Original UT2004 Sniper Rifle the Smoke was nasty and it was Inaccurate and the Rounds didn't have any Punch. The UT99 Sniper Rifle felt like a Barret 50. Cal or a Similar High Powered Sniper Rifle and getting Headshots in UT99 with that Sniper Rifle was Incredible.

I prefered the Lighting Gun. From a gameplay mechanics point of view, the fact that it reveals the position of the camper always satisfied me.

I quite prefer the UT3 sniper rifle. It's got the punch mixed from every previous installment in the Unreal franchise. And the slow firing rate and the reloading was annoying, but it intensified the loudness of the firing sound even more. Really loud firing sounds from sniper rifles are great, but not so much if the breaks between each is short. The long silence after each round is fired is what makes it sound so loud.

For the purposes of the project I'd prefer 'updated' remakes of the original Unreal weapons.

My biggest issue atm is I need a Character and weapon moddler/animator who'se interesting is spending some (well I really mean A LOT) spare time to help out.  Unfortunately it takes a lot of time to create characters so this is a very big ask.  If there's any interested parties drop me a line!


Now for a long overdue update:

mAlkAv!An has kindly gone over my Ny Leve's map and has worked some of his magic for me! Cheers Malk!!
Malk's managed to improve the framerate considerably and has fixed a few issues that I wasn't able to solve myself.(like the blue halo effect) He's also tweaked some of the materials so the terrain is looking a lot nicer now! On top of this he's also given me a couple of ideas to make it even better!

Regarding status and release plan etc...
A Multiplayer version titled 'Ny Leve's legacy' will be released before the Single Player variant. This is due to the fact that I want to try and include as many of the original enemies, weapons etc.. into the single player version. Unfortunately this may take a while though!

The MP variant will not include the entire map. The upper mine area that leads to the level exit will be cleaned out and blocked as it doesn't fit well in a MP gametype! Also the lift will be removed and teleporters will be in it's place. I'll also make a slight modification to allow for better flow between the upper and lower areas. Apart from that everything else will be included. I'm toying with the idea of DM and DOM variants with up to 24(maybe 32) players!

The map will most probably come in 2 flavours, Ultra and normal.
The 'Ultra' version will have everything I can squeeze into it including all SM's and effects (there are currently over 10,000 SM's in the map in it's current form) and is intended for high end PC's!
The normal version will be a cut down version of Ultra which I hope will run on slower rigs!

Yeah better use the Original Weapons, except for the ASMD it wasn't the best weapon of the Shock Rifles the UT99 and UT3 Shock Rifles are the Best.
