Love ya meshing of the Vortex.  The Crysis meshes suit it superbly!  You make me wish I had them meshes!   Grin

Any chance you can export that skydome material(s) so I can 'burrow' it off ya?

I wish I could, but everything you see is done in the game world instead of a 2d skybox/ a separate area to render the skybox. Every cloud is actually there :/
...
...

I could send you the sun if you wanted it, since I basically traced over the sun from the original game in photoshop, blurred it, and overlayed the original to make a higher res version.
Would it be possible to take screenshots of the sky and make it into a usable skybox/dome?

Also started adding detail to the cliff, and put a nice pulsing effect on the VR engine:

...

And I redid the "crater" the crash created:

That Vortex Rikers is starting to become "Cephy", if you know what I mean. I like it! You know what would be cool with those alien meshes? Skaarj technology. You can build a heck of a mothership with these...

That terrain looks so much nicer in Cryengine.(makes me sad that it doesn't look like that in UE3.  I'm liking the glowing rings as well!  Grin

I wish Epic would port UT3 into UDK so I could at least get some decent lighting in my remake...  Angry

Regarding the skydome...if you can take a screenie of the texture (with the moons etc..) they use in the editor I can try and get it working in UT3.  Clouds I can take care of myself, but I'm really liking that backdrop!
Don't worry about the sun flare,  I can rig that up in the editor myself.  Cheers for the offer though!

Well actually that isn't the terrain - something I learned when using cryengine is that it handles many models (in the form of brushes) extremely well performance wise so what you see is actually quite a bit of rock models I've made the cliff out of. Here's how it looks with no models and simple texture work (because I'm lazy  Cheesy)

I'll let you decide what looks better  Grin (also note the 3 fps difference despite the ridiculous amount of brushes):

Looks much better with the rock meshes!

Admittidly my comments were more directed to the grass and dirt texturing you have around and under the Vortex wreakage!  Grin

Ah, I understand. It could also be attributed to the Use of POM textures, and the road tool is great for making things like the crater from the ship. (or roads  Grin)

Made a new material for Tarydium - it pulses too, but a screenshot can't illustrate that - I made it opaque because having it transparent had issues with the water shader:

EDIT: Added a waterfall to the lake near the nali house in the original from after you exit the ship:

Very very nice M8!  Grin
Love ya blue colour.  (I'd almost be tempted to emulate that colour in my version!  Shocked )

TY, but I was actually thinking of mixing in some green ones too, and maybe even purple just to see how it would look

Finally managed to register here, too Smiley

CE3 visuals are very nice, though I'd like to see the same in the UDK. I see your point about rebuild times but it's possible to use dynamic lighting only.

I also have a POM material for UT3 - perhaps LPS wants to give it a try Wink

Wow, that looks pretty awesome. Maybe make the front "strips" of light or whatever glow a bit more, but other then that It's pretty perfect. Can't wait to see it from the player's perspective. Do you want me to upload my automag again, see if it's ready for skinning?

Also, this was a pretty awesome thing I came across in CE3 - this is done using the water physics, but the results are surprisingly "classic", and it doesn't really affect performance Cheesy:

The ripples might have to be bigger as you can rarely see them in their real form as they get in touch with each other and start creating waves after the first few seconds.
But other than that, does anybody know how to make this in UT3? A detailled tutorial for Unreal water texture-ish looking water would be great. Smiley

Your DP model starts looking really great! Grin

Malk already explained why the stripes don't glow yet: It would be a bright red atm, however, we need a darker red glow.

Surprise, Lord PorkSword: There's now a newer version of Flightcastle called Flightcastle 2.0, created by none other than Alexander Brandon himself! He uploaded the remix onto SoundCloud (a site which I think Frieza is also a member of). It's essentially very true to the original, but you will probably notice something's a bit missing though. His username is FunkyRustic, after his current label, Funky Rustic Productions.
If you make the Nali Castle flyby scene for the main menu of the mod, that map could use this version.

I wanted to listen to the remix as I was very curious how it would sound like, but Soundcloud seems to have trouble with Firefox and I don't want to mess around with IE. lol Roll Eyes

This project got me thinking, if we end up making more weapons, wouldn't it be cool if down the line we have a sort of "oldskool" mutator with all the Unreal 1 weapons in UT3 Cheesy

I attempted to remake the nali house in CE3:

Looks good M8!

You should start up a new thread dedicated to your remake!

Indeed, looks really good! Maybe you should make the glowing thing a bit bigger or at least increase its height and then I would call it finished. Grin

Ugh, reminds me that I wanted to do that weeks ago already... but real life got me pretty busy, didn't even get to launch the editor since quite a while... Sad
