AMEN, this is a MUST!

When i'm playing Unreal on my main pc at 1920x1200, its impossible to read the hud anymore, player messages are just readable, but i have to make a wild guess with the inventory icons.

Really, doesn't the "h" indicate that it's still a beta?
I was kinda expecting that the final version would be without a letter at the end.
Anyway, I think it would be worth the wait to include these new "HD HUD" objects.
..It's a pretty important feature.

GcSkaarj -- so far so good, man. Keep up the awesome work.

Tomaso -- 227 is final whenever SMIRFTSCH says its final. The a-h markings are only subversions.

ALBEIT there is some coincidence in these subversion letters and what's been thought about the subsequent patches.

a is obviously the first Alpha.
b opened the Beta phase.
c is the first Candidate for a more advanced beta.
d is for Debug, since it was even more debugged.
e is the effect of more Extensive testing.
f was for a long time considered Final.
g was the first offer for Gold owners.
h is a Hotfix for the g-users.

What's next? Well, the only real reason *I* see for an 'i' to show up would be more translations -- so that i would mean international. We shall see if Smirftsch agrees with that or not. I for once am making a Polish translation and have made SIGNIFICANT progress yesterday and I hope to achieve more today.

It's more like a-e are betas, f is RC2 and g is RC 2. h is just a hotfix for RC2. But I do see the similarity between the builds and their letters Tongue

Its like Delacroix said and Hellkeeper is a really nice and friendly guy, it was really obvious that he was just joking^^

Like I said, for a while, actually the g version was already supposed to be "final". Its not worth to make an "i" version now. Let Smirf rest from UNREAL. If enough bug reports should get pilled up some day, maybe then. At that time GcSkaarj might have even Highres-ed anything. BTW: You are the man for it. (ok: dont let us forget ahaigh, he is skilled as well, hard to tell who is better)

Yes, as the other pointed out, you ruined mah joke Sad

As for i... Don't worry, I'm sure the war on bugs is a neverending one. Even if h fixes everything, I'd bet money that eventually, a couple of annoying things will pop up here and there.

Heh. It would have been fun if the subversions had Ubuntu-style names (Natty Narwhal is so much easier to remember than 11.04... Ever more so with Android versions, I'll take Gingerbread over 2.3 any time). But hey, whatever works.

A = Abhorrently bad
B = Better than before
C = Complete Crap
D = Deficiencys Demise
E = Eventually it will be good enough
F = Finally worth a damn
G = God damn, another bug? crappity smack!
H = 227hippie or Horrible bugs begone


It's all arbitrary. Name them what you want, lol.

Unreals didnt make too much sense either: 224v 225f, 226b

As I'm still working in the HUD, I have finished the 2º prototipe, in other words this is basically the "second beta" so never mind the other ones.
