I asume the new strategy works, since all of a sudden the downloads did apear in the top 10 for the most traffic on the Unreal Texture site.

Still wish they would give a top 100 though....

But so far(in the first 8 days of this month):

149 hits on UnrealPatch227eWin.zip (4.30%)
77 hits on 227Patch/UnrealPatch227eWin.7z (3.28%)

Important is, it works

I always had the policy on my sites that its allowed to hotlink to files if needed. The sites are for Unreal and its players, so at the end if its downloaded directly or through hotlinking, it supports Unreal players.

No that cant be, the traffic i reffered to is the traffic that is running from the Unreal Texture site. Any hotlink to the Unreal Texture site, no matter what site it offers, where on the world, it will cause traffic on the site that actually offers the actual file.

Only if the file is actually downloaded from your site it will show up as traffic for your site. You site will only show your traffic, and like mine, not where the file was taken from. (Except of course, the link itself will show up in the statistics for hotlinking to the site. But thats aside the bandwidth or traffic)
