I have the Serpentine mod for UnrealGold on my site, which also includes the "Firearms 101 Revisted" guide in the zip ...

Serpentine is a mod that changes the weapons from "futuristic" ones to "modern combat" ones, similar to what we use today. For example, the Sniper Rifle is similar to a .308 Remington bolt action.

I prefer the Serpentine mod to the Infiltration one. Just my personal opinion, eh.

That's correct. When installed there should be a collection of HTML's and related images under Help\Serpentine. I've had Serpentine in the past though I don't have it installed right now.

I use to have a link to the "guide" on the Serpentine site, but a few months ago it was a dead link. I think the Serpentine site is no longer up.

Also, from what I can recall ... the UnrealGold version of the Serpentine mod does NOT come as a umod. It's a zip file, and you have to drop the files into their proper folders manually. And the instructions to setup the "reloading" are NOT included in the zip.

That's why I saved the "Firearms 101 Revisited" guide and bundled it up with the mod's files.

And yup, it's still down.

There's a prog that lets you look "into" a umod file and extract the stuff inside it, so you can drop them into their proper folders manually. It's for UT2003, but works for ALL of the Unreal umod files (UT and UT2004 etc) ...

It is a Umod file. It's just zipped to make it smaller. I personally made the Umod for gold. It is exactly like the 224 installer except for gold. Tongue

I just discovered a neat thing. I use UmodBrowser to extract the Serpentine.int and Serpentine.u files from the umod itself.

I did this with both the Serpentine 8 (for regular Unreal versions) and Serpentine Gold umod files. The .int and .u files for both types are exactly the same.

I think the difference for the regular and Gold versions is just the Manifest for the umod install.

To test this I took the Gold one and had Sinji drop it into 225F. I ran great. So, I just have Serpentine 8 zipped up (not as a umod, but just the .int and .u files, plus a tutorial for reloading etc) on my site now.

It seems that one works for both regular Unreal and Gold.

But if you want to install Serpentine from a umod and it isn't working - then don't. Just drop the file in their proper folders manually. See my post above.
