looks like burst.net has some cheap vps windows options starting at 8 - 15$ but the cpu speed might not be enough in the lower tiers , http://burst.net/winvps.php
cant vouch for any of there services , someone brought it up in a chat we were having about where a certain server might be able to move to. bonus is with a vps you could run a redirect and teamspeak server from the same host and have infinite slots

if you got a higher tier vps , you could run all your server from one vps prehaps as well

linus vps are even cheaper but then you will need to run 227i etc and know about linux
http://burst.net/linvps.php

Probably they gave up on it as an instruction set very powerful but not available on any CPU.

Currently MMX is used by Galaxy and SSE/SSE2 is used by OpenGL/D3D9. That's it already pretty much.
Everything else has to follow, if there is someone willing to make use of it.
PainTime is an example of gross violation of the single responsibility principle, and it wasn't introduced by Legend, as far as I know. A well-designed code would not control oxygen and damage from lava/slime via the same parameter (then, in particular, players might not have strange ability to swim without oxygen in lava/slime).

The Creative shadows were hardware accelerated via the Riva TNT's stencil buffers. The u227 shadows are done in software.

Hmm yeah, well I must say the source coming directly from Epic Game's website is quite convincing. They show this as one of their games, so I striked out those links above. But there really isn't much documentation on that specific game, and it is for DOS.

Now, believe it or not... there is a game from 1992 that was made for DOS called Stunt Island. That was fully 3d, it isn't Unreal Engine. But it's good proof of the technology advancements made by then. If you guys are interested in this, you might find it to be something like... Flight Simulator or... Rollercoaster Tycoon or a little like Minecraft in creativity.

Quote:

Smirftsch wrote on 05/21/13 at 20:32:23:

yes, read the post:

" 227 was not responsible for the "downfall" of infiltration, rather the ongoing bugs and cheating due to insufficient anticheat was. Players were accused all the time to be botting and it didn't matter if they did or not- to play a game with fun was not possible anymore because of that. Why do you think all admins decided to update? "

And actually you called UI garbage, not that you "dislike" it.

They all decided to update because of Cheater Paranoia. I played back on SA, TA, EC, AOZ, etc. Like in most competitive games, everyone called everyone else a hacker. Yes, there were probably some people actually hacking. By "downfall" I mean the effective end of anyone playing standoff online, at which point was marked by the remainig server owners collectively switched over to integrity which required 227 and most clients didn't want to use 227 for whatever reason. This made a lot of people who had various issues with 227 -- no, they weren't 100% cheaters -- up and leave. I distinctly remember several occasions -- "I get a black screen when I window", "my input is crappity smacked up", "my game is lagging", etc. etc.

Point is that people had issues with 227, I don't think they were all cheaters, and then the servers all updated at the same time and that was it for the community.

Look, why does my opinion on my own personal website have any relevance here? There's a reason I put my blunt opinions on my site rather than here, and that is to not start a controversy here on the boards. I'd rather discuss things that I'm opinionated about that may be controversial not all over the boards. But because you're looking a gifted horse in the mouth; yes, I think UI is garbage. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed of my opinion but I think you should be for dragging irrelevant stuff here and posturing as if I was blaming 227 for the end of the inf standoff online community.

So you are able to distinguish after all. To bad it always has to escalate before this happens. Any why it has any relevance here? Because it's wrong and I have no other choice but to do it here.

Quote:

Thanks for taking a positive thread and shitting all over it.

That's what I always feel when I have to read something like this. Welcome in my world.

I removed a few flame posts after that, that was not my intention. Everything is said.

Edit: From your page again

"OldUnreal admins and company; you can take this and shove it. Just because you're overseeing a forum for Unreal does not mean that my opinion must meet your requirements. I come from a mindset where open opinions are valued, not harangued for being different (often childishly equated to "controversial")."

A opinion is not to call something garbage and its not to blame something again and again for disliking it. You can't expect to "shitting all over it" like you said so nicely and then come nearby here making some advertising for your mods.
